Arsenal’s summer target?
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, with the German having a €40 million release clause.
The Gunners have not been the best defensively this season.
They have conceded a fairly high 34 goals in their Premier League campaign.
During Mikel Arteta’s time at the club, Arsenal have kept three clean sheets in eight league games.
One could also argue that central defence is Arsenal’s weakest position.
As a result, the Gunners have been linked with multiple players in that position over the past six months or so.
Dayot Upamecano was heavily linked during the January window, but a move never came to fruition.
Gabriel Magalhães is also reportedly a target for the coming summer transfer window.
Now, another defender has been linked with a move to the Emirates.
Jonathan Tah or Dayot Upamecano for Arsenal?
According to Sport BILD reporter Christian Falk, Arsenal are interested in Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.
The 24-year-old has played 26 times for Leverkusen in this campaign, and has impressed, so much so that Arsenal are supposedly admirers.
According to Falk on social media, Arsenal are interested in the defender, who has a €40 million release clause.
Considering his age, experience and ability, that doesn’t seem like such a bad price.
That could also end up being cheaper than the signing of Dayot Upamecano.
