Radja Nainggolan & Inter Milan
Rumours in the Italian press are talking up the possibility of Radja Nainggolan moving to the Premier League in January.
Nainggolan has struggled during his first six months at Inter Milan.
Inter paid Roma €38m plus Nicolo Zaniolo left Milan as part of the Nainggolan deal last summer.
Nainggolan has scored three goals in 15 Serie A matches this season. The player is under contract at the San Siro until 2022.
However could Nainggolan leave Inter this January?
At the end of December, Inter suspended the Belgian midfielder.
Inter officially said the midfielder is out for “disciplinary reasons”.
Reports in the Italian press claimed the decision was made after Nainggolan was late for training again.
Recent weeks have also seen reports surface that Nainggolan lost a load of money at a casino in Montecarlo in August.
Arsenal vs Tottenham
According to Italian daily Il Giornale, Inter could sell Nainggolan to a Premier League club this January. Readers are told:
The Belgian was in trouble after the Christmas case, after his umpteenth delay to training and the stolen audio in which he said he wanted to return to Rome.
Now the ninja could finish his Nerazzurri adventure after just six months, and he could go to England.
For the record, Il Giornale steer clear of naming any Premier League clubs who could sign Nainggolan.
Yet, Italian journalist Carlo Pellegatti appeared on the Telelombardia TV on Wednesday night to offer his insight into the Nainggolan situation. He said:
This afternoon (people have) called me and told me: Inter are trying to sell Nainggolan in England.
Pellegatti named four clubs in the race for Nainggolan. They are Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United and Tottenham.
Pellegatti intimated that Arsenal are in pole position for the Belgian.
When it came to the structure of the deal with the Gunners, Pellegatti noted that Inter want to sell Nainggolan for 30 million euros.
Arsenal, however, want to land Nainggolan on loan.
In a final twist to the Nainggolan to Arsenal story, Pellegatti also stuck Mesut Ozil into the mix.
It’s believed Inter are keen on signing Ozil on loan, with the Italians ready to pay Arsenal to house the German until the end of the season.
So will Nainggolan move to Arsenal and Ozil to Inter? With a week left in the January window, Arsenal and Inter need to get a move on if this is going to happen.
