Arsenal fans slam one player during Europa League clash with Qarabag

Not too happy with one player

Arsenal fans have criticised one of their players during the first half of their Europa League clash with Qarabag, despite going in at the break 1-0 up.

The Gunners travelled to Azerbaijan in the hopes of securing another three pivotal points in their group stage campaign.

It’s fair to say that they should be expecting no less than three points against a side of Qarabag’s quality and it looked like it was going to be a long night for the home side after five minutes.

That is because summer signing Sokratis Papastathopoulos got the scoring underway within minutes of kick-off.

A corner headed down by Nacho Monreal deflected off the Greek defender and into the back of the net.

Though, it wasn’t all positive.

Qarabag not giving up easily

That was because the further into the first-half the game went, the better Qarabag started to look.

They even started to look threatening and could have easily got themselves back level.

That wasn’t to be the case but Arsenal fans were far from pleased to say the least.

There was one player in particular, however, that came in for some pretty hefty criticism.

Mohamed Elneny may have taken the corner that lead to the Arsenal goal, but his overall first-half was poor.

That lead to fans taking to social media to voice their displeasure.

Elneny wasn’t the only issue for Arsenal in the first half.

That is because from the 30th minute to the break, Qarabag were the best side.

A flurry of chances could well have seen them bring it level.
