Arsenal beat Bournemouth 3-1
Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez ran the show in North London today, scoring twice in a 3-1 Arsenal win over Bournemouth in the Premier League.
The Gunners are unbeaten in all competitions since the very first day of the season and fans were very pleased to see £35m summer signing Granit Xhaka put in an excellent performance in the heart of midfield.
John Cross of The Mirror did not see it that way.
Player ratings drive Gooners mad
The Mirror‘s John Cross is either an expert troller or genuinely thought Granit Xhaka was a passenger in the Arsenal midfield today.
He was given a 5/10 by John Cross whilst French defender Mathieu Debuchy was awarded a 4 despite playing very well until he was forced off injured in the 14th minute.
Arsenal Twitter are pretty easy to wind up and harshly criticising the likes of Xhaka was always going to send them into a spin.
The Mirror‘s player ratings:
Cech – 7
Debuchy – 4
Mustafi – 5
Koscieny – 7
Monreal – 6
Elneny – 7
Xhaka – 5
Walcott – 7
Ozil – 7
Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7
Sanchez – 8
John Cross, so-called Arsenal ‘expert’. Xhaka ran more than any Arsenal player, made more passes, made more tackles & ball recoveries pic.twitter.com/w3LPJbTL8d

John Cross gave Xhaka a 5/10 and said he was a passenger. Marvelous Sunday evening banter.

John Cross gave Xhaka a 5/10 rating and called him a passenger. Same Xhaka that had 9 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 14 recoveries. https://t.co/c5VpX08Ocs

@johncrossmirror Xhaka was amazing. You are so bad at your job that it’s quite wonderful actually.
