Arsenal fans celebrate bittersweet goal as Ramsey caps off brilliant move

Aaron Ramsey Arsenal

The most bittersweet of goals

While Arsenal fans were delighted with Aaron Ramsey’s goal against Napoli on Thursday evening, it reminded them of his inevitable departure.

Ramsey’s future has been a huge subject several times throughout this season.

The Welshman has been pivotal for the club during his time at the Emirates but as his contract ran down, the more likely it looked he would leave.

Though, it was then revealed all the way back in October that Arsenal had offered Ramsey a deal thought to be worth £185,000 per week and he was ready to sign the contract.

However, that contract offer was then pulled off the table, much to Ramsey’s bemusement.

A few months after, Ramsey made the decision to join Juventus on a free transfer in the summer.

Safe to say that was hard to take for Arsenal fans then, but his form in recent weeks has made the pill even harder to swallow.

Ramsey has been playing like a man possessed and that didn’t change against Napoli on Thursday.

Ramsey caps off beautiful team goal

That is because the midfielder scored his 6th goal of the season.

Arsenal worked the ball beautifully to Alexandre Lacazette, who played the ball inside for Ainsley Maitland-Niles with the youngster putting it on a plate for Ramsey to place the ball into the back of the net.

It was a beautiful move all around but it was Aaron Ramsey’s name on the scoresheet.

Considering he will no longer be an Arsenal player in just a few months time, it was very much a bittersweet goal for Gunners fans to celebrate.

Thankfully, Lucas Torreira’s goal to put Arsenal 2-0 up helped take their mind off it!

Social media reacts to Ramsey goal

As expected, social media was awash with Arsenal fans reminded of Ramsey’s impending transfer.

Safe to say, while they were happy their side were in front, they were reminded of a terrible decision by their club.

Juventus fans, on the other hand, really enjoyed Ramsey’s goal against their Serie A competition Napoli.
