Arsenal fans can’t believe how good Jack Wilshere has been v Doncaster

Room for Wilshere?

Jack Wilshere made his first start for Arsenal since May 2016 against Doncaster Rovers and Gunners fans can’t believe how well he has played.

At the time of writing the Englishman has featured in the first half of the game against the lower league side in the Carabao Cup.

The player came back from Bournemouth after a season-long loan but suffered yet another injury setback.

Now, having returned and been playing for the reserve side for the majority of the season, the midfielder has been given his chance in Arsene Wenger’s side.

That comes as part of several changes including Olivier Giroud coming in up front, youngsters Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson and also Theo Walcott.

Though, it was clear that the biggest inclusion was Jack Wilshere who is surely on his last chance at the Emirates before he is shipped out.

While many had expected a second-rate performance, they have got exactly the opposite as the resounding opinion is that the player has impressed.

Wilshere nearly grabbed himself an assist when he chipped over the defence for Olivier Giroud but his effort cannoned back off the bar.

Arsenal are currently 1-0 up courtesy of a goal from Theo Walcott as he also looks to force himself back in the side.

Arsenal fans will certainly not be that impressed with the scoreline against Doncaster but it was hardly going to be a thriller.

The Gunners will just see this as a reserve game, something which has certainly benefitted Jack Wilshere.

Comfortable on the ball and in a class of his own according to the Arsenal fans this evening.
