An amazing Sky Sports interview with an American Arsenal supporter has been going viral online over the last 48 hours.
The fan was speaking in anticipation of the Gunners’ Premier League meeting with Manchester City at the Emirates on Thursday night, a clash which the hosts eventually went on to lose by 3 goals to nil.
The result came fresh on the back of another 3-0 loss for Arsenal at the hands of Pep Guardiola’s rampant Citizens, last Sunday in the Carabao Cup final.
Last weekend’s result, and more so performance, had supporters of the North Londoners up in arms with their side, with the likes of Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger having been slated for their lack of fighting spirit.
Gary Neville’s claims that several of the Gunners’ stars showed themselves to be ‘spineless’ and a ‘disgrace’ gained widespread traction in the days that followed, with Neville himself having spoken to one of Arsenal’s fans regarding the lack of passion amongst Arsenal’s players ahead of kick-off at the Emirates on Thursday night.
‘Establish a new culture’
However, Neville was clearly not prepared for the brilliant discussion that ensued, with the American interviewee (who was unfortunate enough to watch Arsenal live for the first time on Thursday) having put forth a passionate yet level-headed argument for change in North London.
Check out the footage below, during which the surprised Neville even questions ‘are you a TV presenter? You’re better than me!’
