Arsenal’s decline

It is fair to say that Arsenal have been on the decline for some time now.

Long gone are the days during which the Gunners were considered one of the top two or three clubs in the Premier League.

The likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea have overtaken the north Londoners as the top sides in England.

This decline began amid what proved to be a rather sad end to Arsene Wenger’s stint at the club, as the Frenchman failed to secure a top-four spot in either of his final two campaigns.

This trend has since continued under both Unai Emery and Mikel Arteta, with Arsenal currently not even in the top-six under the former Manchester City coach.

AFTV named most profitable YouTube fan channel

Whilst Arsenal’s struggles have of course proven to the detriment of most of the club’s fans, a handful have in fact been able to capitalise on their side’s woes.

Pretty much everyone who follows the Premier League in some capacity will be aware of Arsenal Fan TV.

The fan-led channel boasts over 1.3m subscribers on YouTube, and also attracts interest from supporters of other clubs – largely due to some of the iconic rants of both the Gunners faithful, and the show’s presenters.

Now, meanwhile, an insight into the profit made by AFTV has been provided.

According to a recent report, of all of the fan-led football channels, the Arsenal platform boast the most views historically, the most views over the past 12 months, and the most views over the past 30 days.

It is added that AFTV are believed to rack up around £1.2m-per-year from YouTube ads alone, which works out at around £32,000 from every Arsenal match.
