Arsenal face losing out on Kai Havertz if they aren’t able to tie up a deal quickly, with German giants Bayern Munich looking to add the striker to their ranks before the end of the summer transfer window.

The Gunners have already seen one bid rejected for the Chelsea attacker, who is set to depart after three lacklustre years in west London. Valued at £75m by Chelsea, it is thought that Arsenal will pay no more than £60m for the 24-year-old, though it is unclear how much of that they are prepared to pay up front.

Despite this impasse, Havertz is thought to be ‘keen’ on a move to north London and personal terms are not set to be a problem for the two parties to reach an agreement on, with Mikel Arteta hoping to revive the career of one of the most sought after talents before his move to Chelsea in 2020.

However, his head could still be turned and with no deal having yet been agreed, it leaves room for another club to sneak in and hijack the deal.

That is exactly what German giants Bayern Munich are hoping to do. After being priced out of moves for both Randal Kolo-Muani and Harry Kane in the early part of the summer transfer window, their striker search has turned to the 24-year-old, who they would be able to offer a return to his home country.

According to reports coming out of Germany, Bayern have ‘not yet made an offer for Havertz but are informed on transfer conditions and Arsenal’s efforts’, though it is thought that Havertz himself may prefer to stay in England.
