Arsenal want Pavon in January
Arsenal are plotting a January move for Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon, according to The Sun.
The Gunners new head of football Raul Sanllehi has reportedly made the 22-year-old his top target.
Pavon signed for Boca Juniors in 2014 for a fee of around £3.1 million.
Since then the Argentine has gone on to make 96 appearances for Boca Juniors.
In those 96 games, Pavon has scored 26 and assisted 29.
Pavon had played seven and scored two in the 2018/19 season for Boca. But he has missed a fair few games through injury.
The wingers current deal with Boca Juniors runs out in June 2022 with his release clause said to be around £44.5 million.
Arsenal’s unbeaten run comes to an end
Arsenal’s latest game saw them take on a Southampton side who had won just one of their last 16 league games.
Arsenal, on the other hand, were looking to make it 23 games in a row without defeat across all competitions.
Despite the game having an Arsenal win written all over it, a returning Danny Ings would give the Saints the lead in the 20th minute.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan would draw Arsenal level eight minutes later but Ings would once again put Southampton in front on the stroke of half-time.
Mkhitaryan would score his second of the game in the 53rd minute to make it 2-2.
However, Charlie Austin would come off the bench to head Southampton 3-2 up in the 85th minute.
The game finished 3-2 and Arsenal’s superb unbeaten run came to an end vs a relegation battling Southampton.
