Change is coming at Arsenal
Arsenal are reportedly ‘expecting’ popular recruitment chief Monchi to join the club this summer despite interest from former club Sevilla.
The Gunners have been left in an unexpected position.
When Arsene Wenger left the club last summer, Arsenal needed to rebuild the club from the ground up.
Not only did they appoint Unai Emery as manager, they appointed Sven Mislintat as head of recruitment.
It was expected that the pair would combine to make Arsenal title contenders yet again but it wasn’t long before things turned sour.
Sky Sports suggested that his departure was due to ‘some differences of opinion with Spanish sporting director [Raul] Sanllehi’.
Now, it looks as though Arsenal are edging closer to replacing Mislintat and we’re sure Unai Emery will be happy.
Monchi edging closer to Premier League move
According to Mirror journalist John Cross, Arsenal have ‘offered Monchi a three-year contract worth £2.5m-a-year’.
The well-known recruitment chief has had a pretty successful career.
He was most successful during his time at Sevilla with Unai Emery where the pair won the Europa League three years on the run.
Now, the pair are set to reunite.
Arsenal have offered Monchi a three year contract worth £2.5m-a-year. He is their first and only choice. They are expecting him to arrive. Sevilla are now trying to get in at the 11th hour but that would take one hell of a U-turn and a lot of backing out.

As explained by Cross, Monchi is Arsenal’s ‘first and only choice’ and the Gunners are ‘expecting him to arrive’.
That is despite Sevilla making a push to bring him back to Spain.
If Cross is to be believed, Arsenal will soon have themselves a new head of recruitment.
