Gunners and Everton set to go head to head
Both Arsenal and Everton have reportedly held talks over a potential £35million move for exciting Ajax forward David Neres.
The Brazilian has well and truly broken onto the scene during the current campaign.
Neres has impressed in all competitions, scoring an impressive 11 goals and assisting 13 this season.
Some of those goals have been incredibly important ones too.
Neres scored one of Ajax’s four goals at the Bernabeu in their famous Champions League clash with Real Madrid.
Neres also scored an incredibly important goal for Ajax in their quarter-final tie with Juventus on Wednesday night.
The Brazilian cut onto his right foot and placed a wonderful shot into the far corner.
Now, those performances look to have brought about some admirers.

That is because according to a report by the Telegraph, both Arsenal and Everton have held talks over a potential move for Neres.
Their report claims that ‘Arsenal and Everton have already held talks over the 22-year-old forward while a bid from Borussia Dortmund, who are aware of the huge interest in England international Jadon Sancho, was rejected in January by Ajax.’

The Telegraph also name Chelsea and Manchester United as admirers, while admitting he will likely sell for around £35million.
Despite having a contract until 2022, their report continues by claiming ‘with the progress he is making and the attention he is gaining, [Neres] is expected to leave this summer.’
With that in mind, there could be a huge battle for his signature this summer and both Arsenal and Everton look to be in the thick of it.
