Izzo set for the Premier League?
Arsenal and Everton are battling to sign Torino defender Armando Izzo, with both Premier League sides reportedly ready to bid €25 million.
The Gunners & Toffees are likely to be big players in the transfer market this summer.
While Arsenal have a limited budget following their Europa League failure, there are a number of positions that need strengthening.
Meanwhile, Everton will be looking to build on their end of season run in the last campaign by signing some key players.
A position where both clubs desperately need to strengthen is central defence.
Arsenal could reportedly sell Laurent Koscielny to Borussia Dortmund this summer, and that would leave them short in a position which isn’t strong to begin with.
Meanwhile, at Everton, Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams have left the club permanently, while Kurt Zouma has returned to Chelsea after his loan spell at Goodison Park.
Now, both Premier League sides are set to battle for Armando Izzo.
‘Arsenal and Everton ready to present a 25 million bid’
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Arsenal and Everton are ready to bid €25 million for the Italy international.
His report claims that ‘the defender has two Premier League clubs, namely Arsenal and Everton ready to present a 25 million bid.’
Di Marzio also reveals that Izzo’s agent has been speaking with Torino president Urbano Cairo to resolve the player’s future.
Unfortunately for Everton and Arsenal, Cairo supposedly told Izzo’s agent that the defender will not be sold.
Instead, they will look to offer him a new contract in Turin.
As a result, Everton and Arsenal may need to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements.
