The agent of Bayer Leverkusen star Hakan Calhanoglu has added fuel to the fire surrounding rumours that his client will join Serie A giants AC Milan by revealing that contact has indeed been made between the clubs.
San Siro bound?
News broke early this afternoon that Calhanoglu could be set for a move to the Rossoneri this summer, with German newspaper WAZ claiming that a deal could be announced ‘in the next few days.’
The story has gained traction since, with the midfielder’s representative Bektas Demirtas revealing that ‘there’s been contact’ between the clubs when speaking to Reviersport.de.
Demirtas also added:
‘Still, I don’t want to comment on this. I’ll just say that Milan are a top European club.’
The deal would stand as yet another coup for AC Milan if the club could pull off Calhanoglu’s signature, with Premier League sides Chelsea and Arsenal, among others, having also been linked with moves for the talented Turkish international.
The 23-year-old, who primarily operates as an attacking midfielder, is thought to be available for around 25 million Euro, and would mark the 5th major signing made by Vincenzo Montella’s side this summer.
