According to a report from A Bola this evening, European giants Barcelona and Arsenal are set to go head-to-head over the signature of Portuguese teen Pedro Neto.
The 17-year-old wonderkid has already made two first-team appearances for the Portuguese side in the Liga NOS, netting one goal in the process.
The hugely talented teen does not turn 18 until next March, and can play either as a centre-forward or a left-winger.
Back in May, Neto’s father revealed that both Manchester United and Barcelona had made contact with him regarding the player, though the will of Braga President Antonio Salvador convinced the youngster to remain at the Estadio Municipal to continue his development.
However, further impressive showings for both his club and the Portuguese youth teams have once again alerted some of European football’s biggest clubs, with Barca now joined by Arsenal in the race for the youngster.
Neto, though, will not come cheap, with Braga having already turned down a reported 15 million Euro offer from Arsene Wenger and Arsenal.
The attacker has a 20 million Euro release clause in his contract which will need to be met if either of the aforementioned clubs are to get their hands on one of European football’s brightest talents.
