Arsenal and RB Leipzig ‘hopeful’ of finding Emile Smith Rowe deal before transfer deadline – Mail

Emile Smith-Rowe

As per a report from the Daily Mail, Arsenal and RB Leipzig are locked in negotiations over a potential deal to send Emile Smith Rowe back to Germany.

Arsenal prodigy

19-year-old midfielder Smith Rowe is widely-regarded as one of the finest young talents not only on the books of Arsenal, but across all of English football.

The starlet broke into the senior ranks of the Gunners last season, after being handed the chance to impress by Unai Emery.

And, despite having only managed appearances in the League Cup and Europa League, Smith Rowe grasped the opportunity afforded to him with both hands.

Across 6 appearances, the English Under-19 international notched a hugely-impressive 3 goals.

Smith Rowe showcased an all-round repertoire of splendid touch, technique, eye for goal and tenacity to paint the picture of a genuine midfield star in the making.

Leipzig return?

And, despite having struggled to make any sort of meaningful impact during a 6-month loan stint in Germany with RB Leipzig over the second-half of the campaign, Smith Rowe looked set to be rewarded for his displays with a permanent spot in Unai Emery’s squad for the 2019/20 season, after the teen was handed the Gunners’ no.32 jersey last month:

The latest rumours emerging this evening, though, suggest that Smith Rowe could be set for an imminent Bundesliga return.

Arsenal and Leipzig are said to be in talks over the possibility of the midfielder making the move back to the Red Bull Arena, as part of a deal which would send defender Dayot Upamecano to north London.

In fact, Kieran Gill of the Daily Mail goes as far as to claim that Arsenal have seen an opening offer of £55 million for Upamecano rejected.

Leipzig reportedly want Smith Rowe included as part of any potential transfer. The Bundesliga outfit are open to either a loan or permanent deal.

Arsenal are rumoured to value their English starlet at £25 million.

Both clubs, meanwhile, are ‘hopeful’ of an agreement being found before Thursday’s English transfer deadline:
