One famous Argentine journalist has taken aim at Barcelona and Lionel Messi today after their collapse against Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday.
While Manchester City v Liverpool was expected to be the story of the night, it was far from it in the end.
That is because Roma embarrassed Barcelona and shocked everyone by overturning a 4-1 aggregate scoreline to progress through on away goals at 4-4.
Edin Dzeko scored the first to get the ball rolling before Daniele De Rossi scored a penalty to put Roma on the cusp of something special.
Kostas Manolas completed the turnaround when he scored a header to make it 3-0, sending the Stadio Olimpico wild.
Though, while Roma’s fightback has been taking the headlines, Barcelona’s performance has also been under the spotlight.
Roma’s incredible comeback is special viewing in any form.
But it’s even more special with Italian commentary

While the whole Barcelona team has been slammed, some comments on Lionel Messi are interesting.
Argentine journalist Martin Liberman, who has been known to criticise Messi before, stood by his opinion and claimed that the player doesn’t show up in some big matches.
“I support what I have always said about Messi, they all go crazy for the three goals he makes to the minor teams and then in the decisive matches, sometimes, not always, sometimes he does not appear,” Liberman explained.
Today he did not participate, that’s the truth. As Barcelona, which was a complete disaster, I will not blame Messi, although one always expects more from him clearly”.
After the draws, Guardiola was asked if City are favourites for the UCL.
Pep: “Who does Messi play for?”
Pep: “So they’re the favourites.”
