The inquest has begun for Argentina.

On Saturday, their Copa América campaign got underway against Colombia in Salvador.

La Albiceleste were outplayed throughout and two late goals saw Colombia run out 2-0 winners.

A disastrous start for Lionel Scaloni’s men.

That’s just the third time in 16 tournament that they’ve lost their Copa América opener.

There is now no more room for error.

Paraguay meanwhile were at the Maracanã to take on Qatar.

They led after just four minutes when Óscar Cardozo slammed in a very soft penalty.

He’s the third oldest player to score a Copa América goal in the 21st century at the age of 36 years and 27 days.

Cardozo thought he’d doubled his side’s lead just after half time but his tap-in was ruled out for offside after a long VAR delay.

They did go 2-0 in front not long after though when Derlis González’s thunderbolt flew into the top corner.

Eduardo Berizzo’s side cruising.

However, Qatar fought back, scoring twice late on to salvage a draw.

That means Paraguay are now winless in their last eight Copa games, four draws and four wins.

In fact, they have only won one of their last 18 games in the competition, ten draws and seven defeats.

This is a must win for both and Argentina’s attacking talents should see them win in Belo Horizonte.
