Chelsea’s compensation payout revealed
The Times have reported the following:
Antonio Conte has won his legal battle against Chelsea, with the club ordered to pay their former head coach £9 million in compensation after sacking him last summer.
So where did the 9 million pound sum come from? The Times continued, revealing:
Conte was sacked last July after two years in charge at Stamford Bridge with 12 months left on his contract, leading his lawyers to argue that the 49-year-old was entitled to be paid for the final year of his deal until he accepted another job, which he has yet to do.
The Times drop several other key nuggets of information.
Could Chelsea appeal the Conte decision? Yes, the Blues could turn to the High Court. However, the broadsheet confirms that the Pensioners don’t intend to go down that path.
In addition, it’s revealed that Chelsea have now paid more than 90 million pounds in compensation to managers who have left Stamford Bridge.
