Antonio Conte cries about Liverpool favouritism

Liverpool v Chelsea

The big game next Saturday in the Premier League is at Anfield.

In the late kick off, fifth-placed Liverpool play host to third-placed Chelsea.

Both clubs picked up maximum points last weekend. Liverpool beat Southampton 3-0 while Chelsea slayed West Brom 4-0.

Just three points separate the two sides and it should be a fascinating clash between the two sides.

With Manchester City setting such an incredible pace, neither Liverpool or Chelsea can afford to drop any points.

Antonio Conte complains before Qarabag

On Wednesday, Chelsea take on Qarabag in Azerbaijan.

And for the second time in a week, Antonio Conte has complained about Liverpool in reference to their Champions League fixture.

Conte is not happy that Chelsea have to play on Saturday with a key Champions League game at Qarabag on Wednesday evening.

It feels like a pertinent time to point out that Chelsea could be home and hosed in their Champions League group had they not been battered by Roma in Italy, in their last game.

Nevertheless, looking at the fixtures this week, Liverpool do have the easier ride in the Champions League.

Liverpool are away at Sevilla on Tuesday night – a tough game undoubtedly but the travel is less and Jurgen Klopp’s side have a day more to prepare.

On Tuesday, Conte made the following complaint:

For us it must go game by game, tomorrow is the most important thing for us. If we win we go into the next round, it is a really good target for us.

On Saturday we are going to play another tough game against Liverpool. This season it is the second time we have had this situation, firstly against Manchester City and now Liverpool is playing tonight and we play tomorrow, a long trip and it will be very difficult to recover and rest.

Who prepare the fixtures for the league must pay great attention. Because it is difficult to ask if we can catch Man City if we are in this situation.

I don’t want to find an excuse, but this is the reality.

Conte also made similar comments after the West Brom game.
