Antonio Conte ‘can’t wait to leave Chelsea’

Gialnuca Vialli, former Juventus teammate and fellow countryman of Antonio Conte, has today revealed his opinion that the Chelsea manager ‘can’t wait’ to depart Stamford Bridge.

Matchup

The Blues went head to head with Tottenham in a Premier League meeting at Stamford Bridge earlier today, with potentially-crucial ramifications in the race for a spot in next season’s Champions League.

Ahead of kick-off, Spurs occupied the final Champions League place, with Chelsea having sat one place and five points adrift of their capital rivals.

The early goings of this evening’s clash saw Chelsea work their way into proceedings, with the Blues taking more and more control as the half wore on.

And the positivity of Antonio Conte’s men paid off on the half-hour mark, when Victor Moses’ whipped cross from the right was headed home by Alvaro Morata, following a major misjudgement on the part of Hugo Lloris.

Worldie

However, a moment of magic from Christian Eriksen on the stroke of half-time meant that the sides headed in level at the break, after the Dane produced a goal of the season contender with a dipping, swerving effort from 30 yards.

1-3

And the turnaround was complete with just over an hour on the clock, as Dele Alli latched onto a lofted Eric Dier ball over the top of the Chelsea defence, with the English youngster taking the ball down with his first touch in sensational fashion, before lofting a perfect finish over the outstretched arm of Willy Caballero.

Incredibly, Alli was at it again 5 minutes later, after a burst down the Chelsea left from Heung-min Son saw Caballero make an important save, before a scrappy exchange in the Blues’ box eventually led to Alli slotting home into the bottom-left corner of the hosts’ goal.

Imminent exit?

In the aftermath of the clash, much of the media focus has once again surrounded the future of Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, with the Italian tactician long linked with a departure from Stamford Bridge.

One man who is certainly of the opinion that Conte is eager to move on is the Italian tactician’s former Juventus teammate Gialnuca Vialli, who lined out alongside the Chelsea boss in Turin from 1992-96.

Speaking on Sky Sport Italia this evening following another disappointing result for the Blues, Vialli revealed:

‘Conte can’t wait to leave Chelsea.’

‘He can’t stand that they sell or buy players without consulting him. The truth is, Chelsea would like a manager who is more of a club man.’

‘If Conte is released, it’s entirely possible he could return to the Italy bench, which remains vacant.’

‘Whether it’s the Nazionale or Paris Saint-Germain, he’ll find a place where he can start winning something important again. There will be a queue of contracts for him to sign.’
