Jamaal Lascelles handball vs Arsenal
Newcastle United got away with a penalty decision on Sunday against Arsenal.
The Gunners took the lead at St James’ Par with a brilliant goal.
Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang was stationed on the left hand side for the Gunners, while Alexandre Lacazette played through the middle.
The two Arsenal strikers combined to deadly fashion as Aubameyang’s cross was finished expertly by Lacazette.
But the Gunners felt they should have won a penalty in the first half when Newcastle’s Jamaal Lascelles committed a handball in the box.
How did Anthony Taylor miss this?
The man at the centre of the action was once again Aubameyang.
Again stationed in an inside-left position, the Gabonese striker rifled a right-footed effort at Newcastle’s goal.
But before the ball could really move, Lascelles ‘saved’ the shot with his right hand.
Lascelles had no need to block the ball with his hand – it was an obvious handball.
Although referee Anthony Taylor had a great view of the incident, the official failed to award the spot-kick.
Interestingly, Aubameyang made the Newcastle handball clear to Anthony Taylor, yet the ref wasn’t moved.
In other news, no Premier League referees have been picked to officiate at the 2018 World Cup this summer.
Ref gave a corner for that handball, so he knew he'd touched it. Hahaha, fucking hell. What awful officiating.
