Granada loan stars
Sid Lowe has produced an entertaining read in connection with Chelsea’s FA Cup clash with Manchester United on Monday night. It focuses on the development of three loan players from the two clubs at Granada.
It hasn’t been an easy season for the strugglers, who are currently six points from safety in 18th place.
Chelsea’s Victorien Angban and Jeremie Boga, and United’s Andreas Pereira have been trying to help their cause.
Pereira has been particularly impressive in his temporary La Liga spell. The playmaker has scored four goals and created another in his 25 league appearances. He’s pushing hard with the goal of playing for United next season.
He admits that his dream is to play at Old Trafford next season but admits that the prospect of another loan campaign could drive him away: “I have thought about it,” says Pereira, who has one year left on his United contract after this. “I would love to go back and play at Old Trafford, but if they say: ‘Andreas, we would like to loan you out again,’ or ‘we don’t want you any more,’ I don’t know what I am going to do. But the focus now is Granada.”
