Wolves-linked AC Milan striker Andre Silva set for Sevilla

According to numerous reports in both Italy and Spain this morning, AC Milan attacker Andre Silva is in the verge of a loan move to La Liga outfit Sevilla.

Gifted goalscorer

Silva, who only arrived at the San Siro from Porto for a hefty 40 million Euro fee last summer, was, before his move, widely considered as being one of the most promising young talents in world football.

Despite being just 22 years of age, he has notched a hugely impressive 12 goals in 26 appearances for the Portuguese national team, and has received the honour of being named as Cristiano Ronaldo’s heir for the Seleção by the Real Madrid star himself.

Serie A switch

Silva racked up 16 goals and 5 assists in the league for Porto during the 2016/17 campaign, with a number of Europe’s top clubs having expressed an interest in his signature last summer as a result.

However, Milan were seemingly the only club willing to meet the Dragão outfit’s steep valuation of their star man, with Silva having made the switch to the rebuilding Italian giants in June.

The Portuguese star’s time at the San Siro has proven to be one big disappointment to this point, though, with Silva having managed to find the net just twice across 24 Serie A appearances last season.

He did manage a respectable 8 goals in 12 outings in the Europa League (including preliminary rounds), but, overall, AC Milan have been left to rue the hefty fee that they splashed out on Silva’s services a little over 12 months ago.

On the move

As such, the Rossoneri have long been expected to cut their losses on Silva this summer, with reports throughout the European media over the last 2 months having named all of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Huddersfield Town, Monaco and Galatasaray as suitors.

La Liga bound

Wolves had previously been viewed as the most likely destination for the striker, due to the Portuguese connection at the club, but, as per reports from the likes of Sky Italia, AS and Marca, Silva is in fact now all set for Sevilla.

The Portuguese attacker, who was left out of the Milan squad for their Bernabeu Trophy clash with Real Madrid this evening, was spotted boarding a flight out of Milan this morning, with numerous outlets across Europe in agreement that he was en route to Andalusia.

Silva is expected to join La Liga outfit Sevilla on a season-long loan worth 5 million Euro, with a 30 million Euro option to buy next summer.
