Everton could be set to make a move for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes as they look to add more players into their squad before tomorrow’s deadline.
The Portuguese midfielder was unable to make his mark when he joined the Camp Nou side from Valencia.
He struggled immensely and that has lead to suggestions that he is set to leave the club before the end of the transfer window.
Those suggestions, coming from Sport, explain that the player will leave Barcelona imminently and there have been a few clubs linked.
West Ham are one of the clubs who have been most closely linked with the player for a little bit now.
They have already let Cheikhou Kouyaté join Crystal Palace and only really have Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang in central midfield right now.
That has lead them to try their luck for Gomes and the Sport report suggests that the club may be the best-placed side to land him.
Though, there have now been suggestions that Everton are in for the player.
West Ham vs Everton
Late in the afternoon on Wednesday, it was first suggested by presenter Ian Abrahams that Andre Gomes could be headed to Everton.
He tweeted suggesting that he had been told that a deal was getting done.
My top man in the North West tells me Andre Gomez to Everton – so watchout for that one (thanks Big G)

That was then followed up by reliable Merseyside journalist Dominic King.
He explained that deals for Mina and Bernard were being done but a new name had arisen, that of Andre Gomes.
He revealed that the club were working on a deal, though it wasn’t certain as to whether it was a loan move or a permanent deal.
It’s certainly going to be a busy deadline day for Everton at this rate.
It’s going to be a busy end to the window for @Everton… aside from Bernard and Mina, they are also trying to do a deal for ANDRE GOMES. Not clear whether it is loan or permanent as yet but he’s wanted to come to PL for some time.
