Ancelotti provides updates on Gomes, Iwobi and more ahead of Brighton vs Everton

Brighton vs Everton

This game week’s Premier League action will draw to a close on Monday the 12th of April.

The final outing of the week sees Brighton and Everton face off.

With the business end of the season now upon us, both sides still have something to play for, though they are doing so at opposite ends of the table.

Brighton began the latest Premier League game week 16th in the table. Their form has been decent of late, winning just of their last three.

However, Graham Potter’s men are still only six points clear of the bottom three.

As for Everton, they can still secure European football next term, but they need to put an end to their poor current run.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are winless in three league outings. But they do have a game in hand on all the sides above them and if they win that, they would move up to 6th and to within two points of 4th.

Everton team news

Carlo Ancelotti would hold his pre-Brighton press conference on Friday afternoon.

When doing so, the Italian tactician would provide updates on a number of players.

Firstly, Ancelotti confirmed that Andre Gomes will miss out, Allan is being checked, Alex Iwobi is back fit but Jordan Pickford remains sidelined:

“Gomes will not be available for Brighton Allan is being checked, he trained normally this morning. Iwobi is back, Pickford is not 100% and won’t be risked.”

The Everton boss then confirmed that Abdoulaye Doucoure will be able to play again this season:

“He will play again [this season]. He had the scan last week, everything was ok. He’s going to have his next scan in three weeks and then he can start to train.”
