Ancelotti out? Bayern Munich tipped to appoint a 30-year-old manager

Julian Nagelsmann & Bayern Munich

Is Carlo Ancelotti about to get he chop at Bayern Munich?

Rumours are starting to rapidly rise that Bayern are lining up a major change in their dugout, as the Bavarians could appoint one of the youngster coaches in top flight European football.

The story, lead by Eurosport, is that 30-year-old Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann might soon be the new coach at the Allianz Arena.

Hoffenheim 2 – Bayern 0

Is it a coincidence that this story has emerged this week?

Last weekend Bayern suffered their first defeat of the season as they lost 2-0 at Hoffenheim.

And Hoffenheim were by far the superior team on Saturday at the Rhein-Neckar Arena. Mark Uth was the hero for the Village Team with a double against Bayern.

It’s worth noting, however, that Bayern’s XI was vastly changed. Carlo Ancelotti rotated his squad ahead of the midweek Champions League game Anderlecht.

Lewandowski is upset

At the same time, Robert Lewandowski has started off plenty of chatter at Bayern are a controversial interview he gave last weekend to Speigel.

Lewandowski has spoken out about Bayern’s recent moves in the transfer market, saying:

Bayern has to come up with something new and be creative, if the club wants to keep luring world-class players to Munich. And if you want to keep up at the very highest level, you need these players’ quality.

It’s clear all is not right behind the scenes in Munich.

Nagelsmann talks to Eurosport

On Tuesday, Eurosport have published an interview with Hoffenheim boss Nagelsmann, who has basically issued his ‘come get me plea’ to the biggest club in Germany. Nagelsmann revealed:

FC Bayern is playing a bigger role in my dreams. I lived in Munich for many years.

My wife and my child are going to Munich soon. We build a house there. We have a family connection there. This is our home.

I am very, very happy in my life. Bayern would make me even a bit happier. But it does not mean my future is dependent on Bayern.
