Amra Silajdzic & Chelsea
Are Chelsea going to sign Edin Dzeko from Roma this January?
It’s a rollercoaster week of updates regarding Dzeko.
Last weekend it seemed almost a nailed-on certainty that the Bosnian centre-forward would be returning to the Premier League.
But in the last few days the transfer has unravelled. 32 in March, the Dzeko move has become far more unstable.
And one of the big stories in the Italian press on Friday is that Dzeko’s wife, Amra Silajdzic, has said she’s against a move to west London.

The likes of Corriere dello Sport are reporting that Amra Silajdzic “loves” Italy and she has now intention of leaving.
Indeed, Dzeko and his wife recently bought a house in Rome as they planned to settle in the Italian capital.
Chelsea target Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud
There’s a huge transfer story in the Times on Friday which may have far reaching implications for Arsenal, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund.
Readers are told that Chelsea are interested in signing Olivier Giroud from Arsenal.
Of course, Chelsea have been linked with a long list of attackers this new year.
Some of the names have seemed farcical, including Stoke’s Peter Crouch and Burnley’s Ashley Barnes. And then there’s been Dzeko.
But could the Blues now land Arsenal’s Giroud instead? The Times tell the story as follows:
Chelsea are still considering alternatives to Dzeko, with Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud the latest to be discussed after his proposed loan to Borussia Dortmund appeared to fall through.
The France striker fits Conte’s profile of a target man with Premier League experience, although whether his club would sanction a move across London remains to be seen.
If Chelsea were to sign Giroud, that would be a major coup for the Blues.
It’s also worth noting that Giroud is under pressure to leave Arsenal this winter as he’s not getting the minutes he needs in a World Cup year.
But would he get that much-needed game time at Stamford Bridge? And how much would Chelsea need to offer to get the deal done?
With less than a week remaining in the January window, is there enough time to work out all these issues?
And will Arsenal really allow Alexis Sanchez and Giroud leave for Man United and Chelsea in the same window?
