What’s next for Lille’s Nicolas Pepe?
For more than six months, Ivory Coast international forward Nicolas Pepe has been linked with a possible move to the Premier League.
Back at the start of the year, reports swirled that Man City could lead the race to sign Pepe.
However, these days links between the Sky Blues and the Lille attacker have gone cold.
Similarly, claims that Arsenal could sign Pepe have now receded into the darkness.
On Sunday, however, French local paper La Voix du Nord suggested that Liverpool and Manchester United are keen on signing Pepe.
Manchester United vs Liverpool
La Voix du Nord have reported the following:
Liverpool and Manchester United have not had their last word. Especially the Manchester club, who want to build an ambitious squad for next season.

Five clubs linked to Pepe
Aside from Man United and Liverpool, La Voix du Nord claim that five clubs are vying for Pepe’s signature this summer.
Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid appear to be at the front of the queue. The Serie A and La Liga sides are said to be mulling over 90 million euro offers to Lille.
Also in the mix are PSG, who are looking at Pepe as a possible replacement for Neymar.
Who is Nicolas Pepe?
Nicolas Pepe is a 24-year-old attacker who enjoyed a breakout season in Ligue 1 in 2018-19.
The gifted African notched 22 goals and 11 assists across 38 league outings for Christophe Galtier’s Lille, proving one of the key contributors to Les Dogues’ surprise 2nd-placed finish in the French top-flight.
Pepe is noted for his turn of pace, ability to beat defenders, eye for a killer pass and, evidently based on his stellar goal return, penchant for finding the net on a consistent basis.
The forward is under contract at Lille until 2022.
