Amazing for Tottenham: No Paul Pogba, no Alexis Sanchez

Man United vs Tottenham

Tottenham have to play Brighton on Tuesday night before they can start to think about this weekend’s FA Cup semifinal with Man United.

Indeed, Man United also have to take on Bournemouth on Wednesday night at the Vitality Stadium in the Premier League before they can prepare for SPurs.

But that semifinal is already the focus of attention in the papers on Tuesday morning.

Is Jose Mourinho set to shake up his side for the Spurs match?

Last weekend Man United were humiliated at Old Trafford losing 1-0 to West Brom.

On Tuesday, the broadsheets consider how United may react following that Baggies’ defeat.

‘No Paul Pogba, no Alexis Sanchez’

The headline in the Telegraph is that Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez are both at risk of being dropped for the Tottenham game.

Of course, Pogba and Sanchez are two of the biggest stars at the Theatre of Dreams. But has Mourinho had enough of their performances? Readers are told:

Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera are all under threat of being dropped for Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham after Jose Mourinho promised to wield the axe in the wake of Manchester United’s abject showing against West Bromwich Albion.

(Pogba) is among those in the firing line, with Mourinho admitting after the game the Frenchman was one of those overcomplicating matters and taking “one more touch always”. Pogba’s woes came only days after Mourinho had told the midfielder he needed to start delivering consistently.

Brighton vs Tottenham

Will Brighton win another game until the end of the season?

The Seagulls were beaten 3-2 at Crystal Palace last weekend in a result which has heightened fears that Chris Hughton’s men may go down.

After Spurs, Brighton face Burnley (a), Man United (h), Man City (a) and Liverpool (a).

As for Tottenham, Mauricio Pochettino’s side were beaten by Man City at Wembley last weekend.
