Could Morata actually end up at Barcelona?
Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata looks set for a shock January move to Barcelona, according to the latest odds with bookmakers Ladbrokes.
The Spanish striker has not been a successful signing by the Stamford Bridge side.
He signed from Real Madrid for a club record fee before the start of last season and actually started his Chelsea career in impressive form.
However, that form soon dipped and he has never fully recovered.
Though, much to the surprise of everyone, he was linked with a move to Barcelona this week.
It has been suggested that Alvaro Morata’s agent has offered the player to the Camp Nou side.
Morata obviously played for their rivals Real Madrid and was in their academy for many years.
So not only would this be a stunning deal in footballing terms, it would certainly cause some friction between the fan bases.
Now, bookmakers Ladbrokes have suggested that a deal is very much on the cards.
They price him at very short odds of 6/4 to make the move to Barcelona in the January transfer window!
That would be no doubt one of the biggest talking points of the winter window.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Morata’s Chelsea hell spell looks set to come to a shock end next month with Barcelona reportedly interested.”
Chelsea would obviously need to replace him and Ladbrokes have also given odds on some possible replacements.
Callum Wilson is 5/2 to make a move to Chelsea while Jamie Vardy is also priced at 4/1.
