Alvaro Morata v Arsenal
Many will likely have already forgotten what happened in this season’s Community Shield.
For those with short memories, Arsenal beat Chelsea at Wembley in the traditional curtain-raiser before the season.
Arsenal won the match in a penalty shoutout, while Alvaro Morata missed his spot-kick in the game.
Chelsea star: ‘I suffered’
Morata has started the season in incredible form.
He has six goals in the Premier League already this season.
He also found the target in midweek in the Champions League. The former Real Madrid striker brought Chelsea level against Atletico Madrid with a header.
After the Atletico game, Morata opened up about how his penalty miss v Arsenal threatened to derail his season:
My own start at this club does not seem real. In the first official match I made a mistake [missing a penalty in the shoot-out as Chelsea lost to Arsenal in the Community Shield] and I suffered for a few days.
People didn’t see the situation, but I grew up, showed my strength of character and, now, things are OK. I hope to continue like this.
Alice Campello’s reaction
Morata also revealed how his wife, Alice Campello, reacted to his mood after the Arsenal game.
The Spanish international revealed how Alice wanted to kick him out of the house because he spent two days sulking about his Arsenal penalty.
It seems obvious that Morata is a sensitive guy.
