Alvaro Morata & Eden Hazard injury updates before Bournemouth & Leicester

Chelsea vs Bournemouth

Chelsea host Bournemouth on Wednesday as they look to make it through to the semi-final of the League Cup.

Chelsea won the FA Cup last season under Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri will no doubt be keen to claim silverware in his first season as Blues boss.

To get to the quarter-final, Chelsea would beat Liverpool 2-1 in the third round, they would then beat Derby County 3-2 in the round of 16.

As for Bournemouth, they would beat MK Dons 3-0 in the second round, Blackburn 3-2 in the third round and Norwich City 2-1 in the round of 16.

Heading into the clash with Chelsea, Bournemouth are likely to be without both Tyrone Mings, who suffered a knock vs Wolves and Simon Francis who is dealing with a groin problem.

Morata & Hazard injury updates

Chelsea also have their own injury concerns heading into Wednesday’s quarter-final.

Eden Hazard would suffer a knock vs Brighton, after the game Maurizio Sarri had this to say on the injury:

“Eden is okay, it’s only a knock. I spoke with the doctor five minutes ago and it’s not a big problem. Maybe one day to rest, two days at most.”

However, it has since been revealed that Hazard is still being assessed and could sit Wednesday’s game out. But he is excepted to return vs Leicester at the weekend.

Alvaro Morata will also miss the Bournemouth game as he has still yet to recover from the injury he picked up vs Vidi last Thursday.
