Sad news for Alvaro Morata
The Telegraph on Saturday have published an extremely sad update regarding Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata.
Morata has needed time away from Chelsea in the past few days following a tragedy.
One of the Spanish international’s best friends has died in shock circumstances. The Telegraph have detailed the horrible news as follows:
Alvaro Morata’s troubled start to the year has suffered another blow after one of the striker’s best friends was killed in a car crash.
Chelsea have been helping their £57 million record signing grieve for his friend, who died this week, and will allow the Spaniard extra time off if he needs it.
Morata has been missing for Chelsea in recent matches with a back injury. And now the striker could miss Wednesday night’s Premier League match against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge. The Telegraph explain:
The former Real Madrid star is scheduled to return to training next week, but may not be ready to face Bournemouth on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge. There is also the possibility he will require more time off to return to Spain and attend his friend’s funeral.
If Morata misses the match, Antonio Conte could deploy Eden Hazard in a false number nine role. Alternatively he could turn to Michy Batshuayi, who has been tipped with a January exit from the club.
Chelsea vs Bournemouth
Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-1 last week in the Carabao Cup semifinal.
The defeat to the Gunners was Chelsea’s first in 13 matches in all competitions.
Of course the Blues will be looking to bounce back to winning ways against Bournemouth. However the Cherries are hit some decent form in recent times.
Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last five Premier League matches which have included wins over Everton and Arsenal.
