Alexis Sanchez could well be offered a signing on fee of £10 million should he agree to sign a pre-contractual agreement with Paris Saint Germain in January.
Alexis, as we all know, is out of contract at Arsenal come the end of the season and even the most optimistic of fans now realise he will not be staying at the club past that.
Having already tried to force though a move to Manchester City in the summer, it seems that Alexis is now willing to look abroad, and PSG would certainly offer the wages and signing on fee he wanted – not to mention the chance to win the Champions League and play with some of the best players in the world – neither of which Arsenal can offer, nor look like being able to offer any time soon.
The Express claim the £10 million ‘welcome’ bonus would be enough to convince the player, who PSG tried to sign in the summer, with an offer of £275,000 on the table – wages that were not deemed enough in the eyes of Alexis or his advisers.
Of course, there have been many questions asked about the future of current PSG front man Edi Cavani following the arrival of both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe – and with the relationship between Cavani and Neymar thought to be strained at best, it seems that Alexis may even be purchased as a replacement.
There would be no shortage of clubs who would love to land Cavani, who has a brilliant goal scoring record and would relish the chance to play in the Premier League.
Ironically, Arsenal are the club who have been linked with Cavani more than any other side, and the option of trying to land him may well be something Arsene Wenger ponders, but without Champions League football, it seems there would be little chance Cavani himself would want to go there – although remaining at PSG should Alexis arrive would also be a last resort.
