Eager to start
Alexis Sanchez has noted he cannot wait for the new season to kick off, and his wish will come sooner than most players.
That’s because Manchester United kick off the Premier League season on Friday night, against Leicester, and Alexis noted that last season wasn’t an accurate showing of his talent.
He said that moving from Arsenal to United in the January transfer window was a learning curve, and while he stalled in the last six months of the season, he’s ready to go now.
He said to Sky Sports: “The truth is I’m very eager to get started with the new season, and I’m very motivated.
“I think when you go to a new club in the middle of a season it’s always hard.
“In the five or six months that I’ve been here, it was all about learning, new training methods, working with a new coach and getting to know my team-mates.
“I want to now show everyone what I know I can do and what I’m capable of and bring something to the team and performing for my team-mates.”
Refreshed after no World Cup
One thing that will certainly help Alexis is the fact he has had the entire summer off to relax.
After playing in the Confederations Cup for the previous two summers, the player was burnt out and certainly needed time off to get his body and mind back.
That will no doubt please Jose Mourinho, who noted through the World Cup he wanted to see his players on holiday enjoying themselves, and not playing for their nations.
That’s no shock given how long and hard the season is, especially fighting on multiple fronts.
