Alexis Sanchez describes end of his 2018-19 Man United season as the ‘worst’ after scoring for Chile

Man United’s Alexis Sanchez on his recent injury problems

Alexis Sanchez struggled at Man United last season.

In total, Man United’s highest earner only started nine Premier League matches.

When it came to his attacking returns, Alexis only scored two goals all season.

The Chilean also had a spate of injury problems.

He suffered a knee injury in a 3-2 win over Southampton, while he sustained an ankle problem in the final weeks of the season.

Sanchez is now playing for Chile at the Copa America in Brazil.

After Chile’s Copa opener against Japan on Monday, Sanchez opened up on his injury setbacks:

For six weeks, I felt worse than I ever have before.

I struggled in the first half as I felt stifled, but in the second half I was more relaxed and played with more freedom and excitement.
