Alexandre Lacazette helps Arsenal place one foot in Europa League semi-finals
Alexandre Lacazette’s first-half brace looks set to send Arsenal through to the semi-finals of the Europa League with the Gunners leading CSKA Moscow 4-1 at the break.
Aaron Ramsey also netted twice at the Emirates with Arsenal comfortably controlling proceedings with the next round of the competition already beckoning.
The performance of Lacazette has got Arsenal fans talking on social media, with the French forward beginning to finally show signs of why the North Londoners shelled out £56m to acquire his services.
Confidence is key
Having arrived from Lyon last summer for a large fee, a huge amount was excepted of Lacazette, although, the 26-year-old has endured a torrid time in North London this season.
The striker had netted just three goals prior to Saturday, however, after being handed a confidence boosting penalty in the Gunners’ 4-0Â against Stoke City and scoring twice against CSKA this evening, fans are suggesting that we are about to finally see the best of Lacazette.
With his confidence high and his fitness now looking up to speed, we may finally see the Lacazette that outscored most strikers in Europe last season.

Giving Lacazette the penalty on Sunday looks like a smart move now, get in Arsenal

Not that the Premier League games are that important now, but feels like Wenger HAS to find a way of playing Aubameyang and Lacazette together. Laca is too good to have on the bench. #AFCvCSKA

So lowkey, Lacazette has scored more goals in 2 games than Morata has managed in 2018
It’s April btw

Lacazette is a top drawer striker, all that was missing was a bit of confidence

The idea that Lacazette wasn’t fully fit during his fallow period looking increasingly plausible. Very confident finish on his weaker foot. 3 goals in about 50 mins of football since his return – big confidence boost.
