Why Del Piero has been spotted at Tottenham’s training ground

An explanation for Alessandro Del Piero being in London and visiting Tottenham’s training ground on Tuesday has been provided.

Del Piero spotted at Tottenham’s training ground

As reported by the Evening Standard, former Juventus and Italy star Alessandro Del Piero has been spotted at Tottenham’s training ground on Tuesday.

Del Piero would play alongside Spurs manager Antonio Conte for both Juventus and Italy during the pair’s playing career together and was seemingly keen to pay a visit to an old friend.

Why though was the former centre-forward in London? Well, as per the ES, Del Piero was in London to work on Chelsea’s Champions League meeting with Juventus.

Chelsea vs Juventus

Chelsea are set to get their Champions League campaign back underway on later this evening.

The Blues will face off with Juventus at Stamford Bridge at 8:00 pm UK time.

Chelsea head into the game having notched three wins from four in the Champions League this term.

That loss would come against Juventus in Turin, and means that Thomas Tuchel’s side will head into the game only 2nd in their group.

However, they are just three points off Juventus with a two-worse goal difference. So, a win at the Bridge is likely to see Chelsea gain top spot in Group H heading into the final week of group stage action in December.

Juventus, though, despite struggling in the Serie A this term, have proven to be a tough nut to crack in Europe – scoring nine and conceding two en route to picking up 12 points from a possible 12.

Juventus also have the easier final tie, with the Italian outfit’s last group game against a Malmo side who have not scored in four games whilst conceding 12 goals.
