Brighton vs Spurs
With the end of the season in sight, it’s non-stop action in the Premier League this week.
On Tuesday night Tottenham head to Brighton.
Wednesday sees Bournemouth host Man United at the Vitaly Stadium. While on Thursday Burnley welcome Chelsea to Turf Moor, as Leicester entertain Southampton at the King Power.
Will Brighton win another game until the end of the season?
The Seagulls were beaten 3-2 at Crystal Palace last weekend in a result which has heightened fears that Chris Hughton’s men may go down.
After Spurs, Brighton face Burnley (a), Man United (h), Man City (a) and Liverpool (a).
As for Tottenham, Mauricio Pochettino’s side were beaten by Man City at Wembley last weekend.
Toby Alderweireld & Tottenham’s probable XI
On Monday Mauricio Pochettino indicated that Belgian centre-half Toby Alderweireld could feature at Brighton.
Alderweireld was again left out of Tottenham squad against Man City.
That raised fears that Alderweireld’s Spurs career was done, as many have begun to believe the defender has been frozen out at the Lillywhites.
The defender is currently in a contract stand-off with Spurs, amid claims he could be sold this summer.
On Tuesday morning the Times have predicted the line-ups for the match at the Amex.
The broadsheet believes that Alderweireld will start for Tottenham against the Seagulls. He’s set to play alongside Jan Vertonghen at the heart of the defence.
There’s no room for Lucas Moura in the starting XI for the Times, however it would be no surprise if the Brazilian did line up at kick-off.
Man United vs Tottenham
It’s also worth remembering that Tottenham take on Man United in the FA Cup semifinals next weekend.
Will Pochettino rotate his Spurs XI in midweek to keep his stars fresh for United?
And is that the reason why Alderweireld could make a rare appearance for Spurs this week?
