De Jong impresses for Ajax
Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong is set to join Ligue 1 giants PSG in the 2019 summer transfer window, according to De Telegraaf.
De Jong is just 21 years of age and has spent all of his short senior career with Ajax
The Dutchman has made 46 appearances for their under-21 side, scoring eight and assisting 11 in that time.
De Jong has since gone on to make 59 appearances for Ajax’s first team, in which he has scored four and assisted 11.

The Ajax star has also featured five times for Netherlands’ first team and has a very bright future ahead of him.
PSG to beat Man City & Barca to de Jong
Given the ability he has already begun to show at just 21, it is no surprise de Jong is attracting attention from the biggest clubs in Europe.
Both Manchester City and Barcelona have been linked with a move for the young midfielder in recent weeks.
Manchester City looked the more likely of the two clubs to sign de Jong. The Dutchman would have made a great backup/ replacement for Fernandinho.
Fernandinho is now 33 but as he is the only player really capable of doing a job in City’s holding midfielder role, he is being forced to play pretty much every game for Man City.
This is something a 33-year-old will struggle with as the season goes on. So, the idea to sign de Jong seemed like a great but of business from City.
However, a reported fee of 75 million Euros from PSG has seemingly beat City to the signing of the youngster.
