Ajax & Frankfurt to have no fans at Chelsea & Arsenal
With the international break finally over, European club football is set to return next week.
Chelsea will face a trip to Ajax on Wednesday the 23rd of October in the Champions League, while Arsenal will host Vitoria SC on Thursday the 24th of this month.
Chelsea’s next European home game will take place on the 5th of November, when they once again face off with Ajax.
However, do not expect a full house at Stamford Bridge when Ajax come to town.
This is because the Evening Standard have reported that Ajax have been banned by UEFA from selling tickets to their supporters for their trip to Chelsea in November.
Likewise, when Eintracht Frankfurt face Arsenal at the Emirates on November 28th, they too have been banned from selling tickets to their fans.
The ES explains that Ajax will not be allowed to sell tickets for the Chelsea game after they were found to have breached UEFA’s disciplinary regulations.
The Dutch outfit will ask for more information from UEFA before deciding whether or not to appeal, as per the ES.
The report from the Standard did not specify why Frankfurt are unable to sell tickets for their away clash with Arsenal.
Chelsea vs Newcastle
Before facing off with Ajax at their ground next week, Chelsea will play host to Newcastle on Saturday.
The Blues have had a decent start to the new season under Frank Lampard, and head into the weekend’s games 5th in the Premier League.
As for Newcastle, they are down in 16th spot, just one point above the relegation zone.
However, Newcastle’s two league wins this season have come against Tottenham and Manchester United, showing they can compete with the bigger sides.
