Manchester City vs Hoffenheim
Manchester City host Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim on Wednesday as they look to consolidate their spot at the top of Group F.
City have played five of their six Champions League group games, winning three, drawing one and losing one, earning 10 points.
With just one group game to play, City are top of their group and three points above second place Lyon.
City have already ensured they will qualify from Group F, but there is still a small chance they could finish second.
With Lyon three points behind them, a loss for City and a win for Lyon on Wednesday would see the pair finish the group on 10 points.
However, City currently have eight better goal difference than Lyon. So, it would take City losing by a fair bit and Lyon winning by a considerable margin for City to lose top spot.
Man City injury updates
Ahead of Wednesday’s game, Pep Guardiola has provided an injury update on several of his players.
David Silva suffered an injury in Man City’s defeat to Chelsea over the weekend.
Guardiola has since revealed that the Spaniard will be out for a ‘few weeks’, meaning he will miss the Hoffenheim clash and City’s league game this weekend vs Everton.
Sergio Aguero has missed City’s last few league games and he too will miss out on Wednesday. Although Aguero could be back in time for City’s game vs Everton this weekend.
Kevin De Bruyne and Danilo will also miss Wednesday’s game.
Pep reveals David Silva [hamstring] is going to be a “few weeks”. De Bruyne and Danilo will not feature tomorrow in the Champions League. Aguero is also out, although he could return to the matchday squad this weekend. #MCFC
