AC Milan’s Gattuso talks Arsenal, Wenger and Premier League v Serie A

Pivotal clash

AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso has been talking about Arsenal and Arsene Wenger ahead of their meeting in the Europa League tomorrow.

The Italian boss has transformed the San Siro side since taking over and are now on an extremely fruitful run.

On the opposite side of the pitch though, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal will be lining up having lost all of their last four games.

That certainly isn’t great preparation and there are many fans now calling for the Frenchman to be sacked or resign.

Though, Gattuso isn’t expecting an easy game in the slightest, explaining that Mila will have ‘maximum respect’ for the Londoners.

“Arsenal are not going through a positive period, but they have great players and have scored 18 goals in this UEL. We have maximum respect for them. We must give a top performance tomorrow”

“Compared to Wenger, I’m just a rookie. We are preparing for this match the best way we can. Arsenal are a very technical team that like to have the ball at all times. We must do well to hold them and to make them run when we have the ball”

It’s been a very successful campaign for English sides in Europe this season, with all Champions League sides still in the competition.

Arsenal are also one of the favourites for the Europa League while Italian sides continue to struggle.

Now, Gattuso admits while it was very different ten years ago, Serie A cannot compete with the Premier League right now.

“The Italian teams are doing well in Europe. Yet, we can’t compare English football with the Italian football nowadays. Ten years ago was the opposite, but today, the top players go to the Premier League”

Arsenal’s big injury blow ahead of Milan Europa League clash

One thing that won’t help Arsenal to beat AC Milan is an injury blow.
