How Aberdeen could benefit from bidding war
Arsenal’s supposedly ‘genuine’ interest in Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser could see Aberdeen profit massively due to a clause in his contract.
While no fee was mentioned, you would expect Bournemouth to do everything they could to keep arguably their most important player.
The Scotland international has been impressive for the Cherries over the past couple of years.
After an impressive campaign last year, Fraser has stepped up another level this season.
Playing in a midtable side, Fraser has scored six goals and assisted 10 in 32 Premier League appearances.
That peaked the Premier League big boys’ interest.
Now, reported interest from Arsenal could hugely benefit Fraser’s former club Aberdeen.
Arsenal set to help Scottish club
That is because the Scottish side are said to have included a sell on clause in his deal with Bournemouth.
According to Record Sport, that clause is 20% of any future sale.
That is a pretty hefty amount and with the player likely to cost a decent amount, Aberdeen could be set for a huge fee.
A source reportedly told Record that “Derek [McInnes] is keeping an eye on things, the interest [from Arsenal] seems genuine.
“That cash could make an enormous difference.”
It’s safe to say that it would be huge for Aberdeen if they were able to get a significant fee.
For their sake, they will be hoping that Arsenal are not the only ones interested in a move for Fraser.

Fraser isn’t the only one being linked with a move to Arsenal.
With Unai Emery looking likely to rebuild his squad yet again, the Gunners are being linked with a whole host of moves.
Now, a move for Cagliari’s Nicolo Barella has been mooted.
