Manchester United Vs. Arsenal

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s meet-up, Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey has revealed what made him choose Arsenal over Manchester United as a 17-year-old wonderkid.

The two clubs were vying for the signature of the Cardiff City teenage sensation in 2008 but Frenchman Arsene Wenger did more to make him feel wanted.

Ramsey has struggled with injury so far this season and has only started one Premier League game.

It took Aaron Ramsey six years to win a trophy at Arsenal and the 25-year-old is still on the hunt for his first Premier League winners medal.

What made him choose Arsenal over United

“I went up there [Carrington] to see the facilities and I went to see Arsene Wenger,” Ramsey told Sky Sports.

“He did a lot to try and get me to this club. As a 17-year-old, flying out on a private jet to his hotel [in Switzerland for Euro 2008] was surreal but I think I made the right decision.

“I just felt a bit more wanted by Arsenal and by the boss.”

Famously, Manchester United released a statement revealing a fee had been agreed for Aaron Ramsey just 10 days before he signed for Arsenal.
