Man United flop Adnan Januzaj

When Adnan Januzaj scored that superb volley for Man United against Sunderland, many thought he could become the next Ryan Giggs.

Obviously that never happened.

The past two seasons have season Januzaj regress significantly, during failed loans spells at Borussia Dortmund and then Sunderland.

Still only 22, Januzaj once again needs to prove that he’s able to cut it at the top level, while it’s crystal clear he’s not going to get that opportunity at Old Trafford even though he’s under contract at United until 2018.

Man United want to sell him, and, almost incredibly, Spanish paper Marca believe there’s a buyer in La Liga.

What’s the story?

Marca report that Real Sociedad are leading the charge to land Januzaj this summer.

Sociedad ended last season in sixth spot in the Spanish top flight. They’ll compete in the Europa League in 2017-18.

Man United want €10 million for Januzaj – a fee which seems to be agreeable to Sociedad, although the Spanish club are said to be negotiating with Man United in an effort to lower the price.

As for the player, it’s assumed he’d jump at the chance to move to Spain as his time in the Premier League has largely been unsuccessful.
