A South Korean Cristiano Ronaldo fan flew to Sweden to confront the Juventus star over his no-show

Cristiano Ronaldo vs South Korean fans

Earlier in the summer, Juventus flew to South Korea for a high-profile pre-season friendly.

Juve, the eight-time reigning Scudetto champs, took on the K-League All-Stars.

However, to the huge disappointment of locals who paid to attend the event, Cristiano Ronaldo never entered the fray.

As confirmed by the BBC, Ronaldo’s no-show may have breached a contract:

The superstar was contracted to play 45 minutes when the match against K League All Stars was announced, organisers say, but he stayed on the subs’ bench.

Some Korean fans goaded Ronaldo in the match by chanting ‘Leo Messi’ at the Portuguese icon.

Other fans, meanwhile, have since tried to launch a lawsuit against Ronaldo for his apparent breach of contract.

One South Korean Cristiano Ronaldo fan flew to Sweden

A video has gone viral on YouTube this week, as a South Korean Cristiano Ronaldo fan flew to Sweden in an attempt to force the forward to explain his no-show.

The YouTuber’s name is Kwak Ji-hyuk, and he has 84,000 followers on the video platform.

His video has racked up almost 3 million views in two days.

In the video, Kwak Ji-hyuk tracked down Ronaldo at Juve’s hotel as they prepared to take on Atletico Madrid.

Kwak Ji-hyuk held up a sign calling for Ronaldo to explain himself, while the Korean fan also shouted in English “Why didn’t you play in Korea?”

Ronaldo ignored the fan, leading Kwak Ji-hyuk to tell his followers:

Even when I put the sign right in front of his eyes, I was utterly ignored.

You are so nice to your fans here but why did you do that to us?

According to the AFP, this matter isn’t over either:

According to South Korean reports, Kwak plans to fly to Italy next month to confront Ronaldo again.
