Man United boss Mourinho makes January transfer window claim

No more defenders

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has claimed that despite being without Eric Bailly for a month, he won’t be dipping into the January transfer market to replace him.

That is in part because of the excellent form of the likes of Phil Jones and Rojo, with the duo surprising most people with their form.

He said: “No, I wait for Bailly. I hope the three can control the situation in those eight matches.

“I will try to rest one in every game. On Saturday I will rest one, against Hull another – and we’ll try to make a rotation between these three.

“We still have Daley Blind as the fourth defender in case we need him to play there and we also have Michael Carrick, so let’s try.”

Popular with United players

Bailly has settled in to life in Manchester well, and with injury concerns over Marcos Rojo, it’s the worst time for him to be away, with United unhappy he left early at the Ivory Coast’s request to boot.

Bailly has spoken about United’s possible target Victor Lindelof, and said he would love to play along side him, but if Mourinho is to be believed, that won’t be happening until at least the summer.
