3rd club set to benefit financially from Man United’s deal for Jadon Sancho

Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City will not be the only clubs to secure a financial windfall on the back of Jadon Sancho’s imminent Manchester United switch, it has been revealed.

Sancho a red

The news which Red Devils fans across the globe were waiting for was of course finally forthcoming this past Thursday.

On the back of weeks, months and even years of negotiations, a deal between the transfer chiefs at Old Trafford, and their counterparts at Borussia Dortmund, was at last struck for Jadon Sancho.

This comes after the former finally agreed to pay up, with a fee of around £73 million understood to have been agreed upon between the two clubs.

The English international, in turn, is set to make the move to the Theatre of Dreams upon the completion of England’s Euro 2020 campaign.

Hornets to benefit

On the back of the news regarding Sancho’s imminent United move being made official, meanwhile, much talk has since surrounded the financial windfall set to be secure by Manchester rivals Man City.

The 21-year-old of course previously spent time on the books at the Etihad, between 2015 and 2017, with the Sky Blues therefore viewed as key contributors to his development into one of world football’s finest young talents.

In turn, as per a host of reports, City are set to secure a cool £9.74 million as part of Sancho’s Premier League return.

As outlined above, though, the Premier League champions will not be the only club from the English top-flight to benefit financially from Dortmund’s decision to allow their attacking starlet to move on.

The other? Watford.

Sancho, prior to linking up with Man City, spent eight years making his way through the youth ranks of the Hornets.

As a result, the Vicarage Road outfit are too entitled to a small percentage of the fee involved, coming in at £2 million, according to reports.
